  1. Not to get you down or anything but you can't make up for a week out of the pool in like 5 hours. It's not going to happen.  You can make sure you don't pull any muscles by stretching out, and also you can have more energy by drinking a lot of water, eating a good lunch, and maybe having a power bar or something before practice. You aren't going to be "bad" but you may be a little sore and tight. Stretching should help.

    Good luck!

  2. improvement doesn't happen overnight, let alone a few hours lol.

In the meantime, relax, rest, and be sure you're hydrated. Also, eat a good lunch. Stick to the healthy foods and away from the junk foods that make you feel sluggish after a swim. And of course, don't eat too much because it might make you feel sick during a workout and don't eat too little. I've discovered I always swim best after eating, but still feeling a little hungy.

When you're swimming, just listen and respect your coach. That will always be key. And try you're best. When they say fast, they mean FAST lol. If you swam before and took a break (even a week break can mean catching up), don't be too hard on yourself at first. It takes time to catch up and time to get faster and stronger.

You'll do fine. No need to worry.

    best of luck
