  1. While there is no cure for HPV, there are many ways to keep your symptoms in check and reduce the risk of problems.  Make sure you get your regular pap's done.  Just because you have HPV doesn't mean you will develop cervical cancer, it simply increases your risk.

  2. Medicine is very advanced now a days, there are medicines that can subdue the symptoms and many people carry on casually with their lives. Often, love life carries on. Just be a disciplined patient, take medicines as directed, and spend time with loved ones often.

Things can always get worst, there are those with terminal illness. The depths of suffering know no restrictions. Actually, you may be quite lucky.

Stay positive, your life will find a way. Best of luck to you.

  3. I tested positive for hpv 4 years ago when I was pregnant with my 3rd child. I had abnormal cells that were one step away from precancerous cells.I had to get a couple of colposcopies.Acolposcopy is where they put vinegar on your cervix to enlarge the cells and then look at your cervix with a scope. They say being pregnant that I was immune compromised or my system was stressed  out causing the abnormal cells to get worse.Once I gave birth it got better now I have normal paps. I have to get a yearly pap to ensure everything is fine sometimes you have to undergo treatments like cell freezing.Don't worry have positive thoughts stress aggrivates your body and can make it weak and make your immune system work against you.Take care and good luck.

  4. this kind of HPV (high-risk) increases your RISK for cervical cancer, usually when you get older. it doesn't mean that you WILL get cervical cancer. this strain of the virus is "normally" cleared by a woman's body over time. most womens body will fight it off, but those who don't fight it off or keep getting reinfected are the ones who have to worry later on. when you get an abnormal pap, sometimes your doctor would just monitor you every three months for over a year to see if it goes back to normal. OR they can refer you to get a colposcopy. that is where a specialized doctor will look closer at your cervix and determine if you have cancer pieces on it. if so, he/she will remove it right there. i would still encourage you to get the gardasil vaccine because it can protect you from other forms of hpv (warts) and it can give your immune system a boost to help it fight your hpv.

  5. Go to doctor its probbly nothing

  6. Don't worry. The important thing is that they've caught it and now you can treat it.

I assume your doctor has a plan for how you are going to proceed. Your doctor will probably do a test on the abnormal cells if he/she hasn't already. Then he/she will either do minor surgery to remove the cells or just do follow-up appointments to make sure it's not getting worse. Sometimes HPV does go away on it's own but you must be proactive and do whatever you need to do to get rid of it.

HPV is very common, and so is cervical dysplasia (abnormal cervical cells), so don't feel bad about it. Do a search on HPV or cervical dysplasia and you'll get lots of info.

I was hpv and cervical dysplasia - mine was kind of bad so I had to get surgery, but it was nothing - I went right back to work the next day. I had to see my gyn every 3 months for a while and have been hpv-free for over a year!
