I'm guessing you have to promote it and link to it from other sources backlinks provide targeted traffic with keywords, also have you had a chance to view the settings of your blog, there is a setting that will list your blog in the blogspot directory, so look for it.

Also there are other options for enabling your comment moderation.

But having said this alot of people start blogs and get fed up with them...so good luck!
