Now my car starts but it is acting like the battery died between the time that I shut it off and turned it back on. My radio is set back to AM and my clock on the radio is set back to 12:00. Could I have possibly have damaged something?

  1. My husand, who is a Ford mechanic, says yes.  Likely you

blew a fuse.  These cars have very advanced electronic

and computer systems and are very sensitive.  Check and see if you blew a fuse.  Be really careful jumping other

people's cars too-you could injure  yourself and really damage your car's electrical system.

  2. yes ur alternator got bad mayb you got the cables mix or it wasnt done properly you need to get to a shop... sap get it check

if it dies within 72 (mayb more)hours then you kno its bad alternator if your out of battery get a new one dont turn your radio or anything else on then take it to the shop

  3. Sounds like you got a "Surge" from the car you jumped, and your OBC (On board Computer) shut everything down to protect the systems.   Just re-set the clock and radio, and everything else should automatically readjust to your driving habits in a few hours.

  4. i think you should clean the battery terminals.

  5. Yes you could have damaged something.

  6. Was your engine Running when you did the Jump? "Should have Been!" "Jumper Cables" On your Battery; Red to Positing, Black to Negative. Car/Battery Jumping to; Negative to Alternator Mounting Bracket on some other Block Mount (Prevents Surges to the Car/Battery being Jumped and "Feed Back to your Electrical System"), Red to Positive "When Ready to Start the Car/Battery Being Jumped!" Check Fuses in main Fuse/Relay box by the Battery, Check Fuses Under the dash (Fuse Box)
