  1. First, they will send you to Iraq.  Just worry about coming back alive or not brain damaged.

  2. Yeah, DON'T forget to show up for your monthly drill and annual 2 week bivouac. If you FAIL this, they can put you on active duty.   And ain't no one gettin' a degree from Baghdad U in an evening class.

As to giving advise on your major, that is a c**p shoot undertaking. By the time you get to a point in your academic education where you make the choice for your major, you might have decided to be a narcotics USER (it's been know to happen before) rather than a narcotics officer.

  3. Everyone starts on the street. I've done many things during my career including narcotics and I've enjoyed them all. The guys that end up in the special units, narc, swat, etc are typically the guys that do a good job on the street and become well respected as good street cops.

  4. Phycology, crime scene technology, public safety managment, public relations, forensic pshycology, forensic science, criminalogy. Those are the most advisable. Now make sure you join a large pd b/c if you join a small agemcy the closer youll get to beeing a narc cop is becoming a K9 cop.

  5. I would think that if you are majoring in a specific field your career councelor or equivilant should have a curriculum all set out.  If not, take Business Law 101, Pshyc 101, English 101, Anthropology 101, Economics 101, and of course any of the legal/law courses they advice.  I know that what I suggest seems a little strange, but believe me, they will all come to be a valuable asset in your chosen field.  If you cannot take them all in one term, take them all piecemeal as electives as you proceed.

  6. Don't do drugs.

  7. from what I understand, you do not need to specialize in anything in college to become a police officer... you just need to complete college with any degree. Contact a police bureau and ask for information.

as a tip, dont let your ego get ahead of you. In the US people tend to fear cops, they do not feel safe when they are around even though they are supposed to.

I've never felt safe when a cops is around, and I've never done anything that was considered suspicious.

  8. well the problem is that if you joined the national guard... maybe you should think about how to become a better soldier because you will be going to war pretty soon.

    college: criminal justice

  9. it seems that you are on the right track and you don't need advise .... you can go to ask.com or google it ...
