  1. The actualy Airsoft Guns used are very different, but the sport is much the same (a bit more military-simulation though).

Airsoft should be 15+ with permission and supervision, and 18+ to own a gun. In the UK, that's how we do it and I think it's fine. Although, are power is limited and it's very hard to import.

Airsoft guns are realistic, they operate like the real ones. (Airsoft sniper rifles, for example, are very very accurate but need to be ****** after or before every shot)

They shoot 6mm hollow plastic pellets at 200-300FPS and they don't hurt unless you're really close.

They do not penetrate the skin unless used at a range of like 5cm.

They usually use batteries and fire in full-auto.

They ARE NOT TOYS. They should be used sensibly and safely. Do not shoot animals or people who are not playing. Don't carry it in public and if you're going to use it anywhere except on a skirmish site, inform the local police and the neighbours first.

  2. yes it is very different from paint ball

in paint ball you need all kinds of gear because a paintball hurts alot worse then a airsoft bb and most of the airsoft guns are not co2 powered, most airsoft gun are power by spring or a battery and the only protection you really need it safety glasses (shooting glases)

airsoft bb's are plastic and hurt alot less then  metal bb gun bb's

and i started when i was 13  i would not say any lower age unless the guns arent very powerful like below 150 fps and under adult supervision

    but not yonger then 12

  3. Airsoft guns are different from paintball in that airsoft or bb guns look like real guns and  most rifles use a battery to wind up a spring. The better the battery the  faster the rapid fire.

Most bb guns fire 0.2g plastic bullets, but for snipers most people use the heavier 0.3g or 0.25g, also in my country( thailand) people spend alot of money of Modifying the guns, so a new spring maybe an extra magazine and a spare battery.

I think a good age to start playing is 12-13 it also depends on the gun, bad guns push up to only 100-200 feet per second, while good guns mostly come at around 350, modify it with a new spring and your gun can push up to 500.

BB is definitely more fun than paintball but the bad thing is that everybody has a different gun. If you are going to buy one i recommend the M4- S-system, its accuracy is good if you use for a bit and it is easy to modify, lasers light they can all go on, some other guns you need to buy a rail to fix them on.
