I just MOVED to a NEW STATE how do i MAKE NEW FRIENDS?

ok so ive moved a few times, but this time is probably going to be the hardest. my life was going GREATTTT and then i moved to a different state! i just started high school, and im kinda shy. what are some GOOD CONVERSATION STARTERS to say to people? what should i do to make new friends? I wanna have a best friend, what can help me get a best friend? ANY advice would help i really appriciate it!

Let them approach you. dont be too eager, and be very very sweet and kind, they will kinda pull you into there families if you treat them well

during lunch just sit next to people you believe would be good, kind frineds. if you need advice to get there, just walk up to them, say i don't have anyone to sit with, so could i maybe sit with you guys. as long as they arn't jerks, then they'll take the bait and you'll be set. i had to do that in highschool once just so you know, and it worked fine for me

i know exactly how you feel i have moved to different states many times.

when i was younger i moved from oregon to hawaii. which was a culture shock and it was difficult at first but with time you always make friends.

anyway all you need to do is be yourself

except talk more than you normally would.

i think it is best if you just ask questions because it requires less talking. and you learn more about them so you know what you can talk about.

example. ask them what sports they do and if they say basketball or something that you can relate to then join in the conversation. but if not just ask them more about themselves.

and if you want to meet a lot of people you can not just wait for them to come over to you you have to go up and talk to them.

if its a girl you can just start by saying wow i love your shirt...

and where did you get it.....

or something like that because it isnt ackward and eventually you go from small talk to good friends.

anyway the most important thing to rememeber is that no matter what happens you will definatly find many friends because from what you said it sounds like you are a very likeable person and plus high school is four years so that is a while to make friends.

and i hope you love your new school. high school is great you will enjoy it very much and you will make sooooo many friends, dont worry.
