Will they call me or should I go back to the store and check up there? When should I expect a call or when should I go and check? I applied yesterday. Also, I have a reference letter from my current boss that I couldn't attach because the application was online. Should I go and give it to the manager now or just wait and see if I get an interview and bring it there?

  1. Within a week or 2, but you can call in a couple days and say that you applied online and have a reference letter that you would like to give them.

  2. Definitely call them or go in and ask to speak with the hiring manager. Simply dropping off (or submitting) an application is never enough. Proving you really want it and taking that extra step is what sets you apart from other applicants. When I was 16 I wanted to work at Petsmart- so I found out who the store manager was and I wrote on my application "Lisa- I really want this job!"... haha Then I called her every week and asked if they were hiring still and when we could set up an interview. I called often enough that she didn't forget me- but not too much so as to annoy her. I ended up getting the job- and kept my job for the next 6 years. =) I even became a manager myself. Good luck! And don't forget to dress professionally for your interview! Dress pants and a collared shirt... don't underestimate what a professional image can do for you.
