I just applied for a part time job and...?

I'm only 15 years old.

I've never had a job before, but I have babysat a few times. I just applied for McDonald's online a few minutes ago. IF I do get the job, I'm really scared because I have no experience with this stuff or anything.

I'm also really slow with math so I'm afraid that my brain might freeze up when I have to give the customer change or something. If you don't mind, can you please answer these questions of mine, so that hopefully, at least some of my worries will go away?

1.) Will the cash register calculate the change for me?

2.) Do I have to memorize all of the combos and such or will the names of everything be on each button on the cash register?

I don't know if it's normal to be so worried about a first job, but if it's not, I think I'll blame my shyness for this one. I suspect myself of having social anxiety disorder, so I'm trying to cure myself by putting myself into more social situations.

The cash register will calculate the change for you. Some even shoot the coins out for the customer to pick up and you only have to give them the paper money.

You will need to memorize that #1 is a Big Mac combo, etc. But the combos will be on the buttons on the register. I don't know if it actually says #1 vs. Big Mac... or maybe you just hit the button that says Big Mac and then hit another button that makes it a combo...

Don't worry about being nervous. Everyone gets nervous before they start a new job. Just be yourself, but friendly and don't forget to smile and you will be fine.

Do you know what to do next after putting in your application? Do you know that you have to call them? If you just wait for them to call you, they never will. This is the way it works. Just FYI incase you didn't know. Good luck!

the register will calculate for you, and mcdonalds has picture screens with all the combos on it. they will train you, you may have to memorize the combos and have a short test. no big deal, mcdonalds is easy. they will train you dont worry. its idiot proof
