I just applied for a security guard position that will train me, will most likely get it, help

Question

I am really looking forward to a degree in law enforcement and hope to become a cop soon, and thought this would be a great starting point. its 18 an hour minimum and they are going to train me for the job.

What do Security guards do? Are they in uniforms? do they have cuffs, guns, mace, batons, ect like a regular officer? Anything else about what a security guard does would be great. The position is to work at a manufacturing company in Corpus Christi Texas

Your job will be to observe and report.Your arrest powers will be that of a regular citizen. You will be in uniform. No gun unless specified by the client; for which you will need more training. No cuffs, no mace.

Just a word of advice: being a security guard is NOT a stepping stone to being a police officer............
