Does anyone know the name or brand of the ugly dolls or actually they are more like stuffed monsters, that they used to sell at hastings!! If not then do you of any website that show you how to make similar stuffed animals

You could be thinking about 'Gonks', which were a fixture of British seaside resorts in the 1970s, as presents, souvenirs and prizes at side-show stalls.

The nicest bit of quick research I came up with was the idea that they were originally made by older sisters who were just learning to knit or sew as cot toys for younger siblings when times were hard and materials in short supply. It didn't matter that it looked ugly, someone had given it to you and you could cuddle it.
