  1. also arrive early. expect a through check of your person and baggage. Don't bring any thing that could be considered a weapon. (nail clippers, shaving razor, cork s***w, etc.) the whole process usually take a few minutes, but you'll wait in line for a while. If your traveling out of country bring your pass port.

  2. Go the self check in kiosk, swipe either a passport or credit card in the kiosk and your itinerary will come up.  Follow the directions on the screen.  Then step back a few feet and wait for an agent to call your name (if you're checking bags).  When they call your name, go up, give them your bag, get your boarding pass and then go stand in the security line.  Once through there, look at a monitor to see what gate your flight number is departing from.  Go wait at that gate.  Your bags will be loaded on the plane and you can pick them up at the airport.  It is just like having a plane ticket except you pick it up when you get there.

  3. at the airport there will either be a machine that says "will call" or you will have to go to the desk and pick them up, most places have the machine now but then you put in your credit card to verify that it is you and they print your ticket right there

  4. you go to the airline you are flying out of and use their kiosk at the counter.  Type in your name and it will ask you to slide the credit card through the reader that you used to book your flight.  It will print your tickets for you that tells you what gate your fly out of.  You check in your baggage at the counter with the attendant.  Have a good flight!!

  5. Go to the self-serve kiosk or full-service desk of the airline you are using.  That will print out a boarding pass and allow you to check your bags.

The Expedia receipt will show you which airline, the day and time of the flight and a flight number.

If you are not checking bags, you can also go to the airline website and print your boarding pass at home, which will allow you to go directly to the gate you are leaving from at the airport.

You don't technically need the print out from Expedia, so just keep it in case they can't find your reservation (which I'm sure happens sometimes but has never happened to me).

You should also check the airlines website the day you are traveling to make sure your flight is on time and to see what gate you are leaving from.  You'll need your flight number to do that.

As a first time flyer, make sure you bring your photo ID.  You'll have to take your shoes off at security, so don't wear anything that is time consuming to put on or off.  Also don't carry ANY liquids on you or in your carry on bag (even a bottle of water) that is larger than 3 oz or they will take it.  All liquids and gels you do have should be in a zip lock bag so they can easily identify it.  Also make sure you don't bring scissors (even cuticle ones) or a pocket knife or anything like that.  They will take it from you and you won't get it back.

  6. don't think about it like it's some kind of complicated process. just make sure u bring all the papers with u printed off Expedia when u bought the tickets. Use one of those machines that can print out ur boarding pass in no time, or if u are confused just ask around. then u'll go through security check, and then u'll be getting to ur gate and wait for boarding time. (The gate may change for various reasons, make sure u double check the departure screen to make sure ur gate hasn't changed from the one printed on ur boarding pass). Have fun flying!

  7. whiskey is correct.don't be afraid to ask if you don't know something.

at the kiosk you'll be asked to scan credit card then it will ask several questions.

i know it's a bit scary but is really simple.

  8. #1 Make sure you know which airline you're taking, and which terminal your plane is at.

#2a Check in.  You do this because you get your boarding pass here.  You can do this online, at the airline counter, or at the kiosk machines.  Either way, you get your Boarding pass Printed.

#2b IF YOU ARE CHECKING IN LUGGAGE, you need to check in your bags AT the counter, so skip the kiosk/online, and just go straight to the counter to get everything done.

#3  Go through security checkpoint.  Don't carry anything listed on the www.tsa.gov site that cannot be carried on..  Large bottles of liquids.. anything sharp.. etc. etc. keep those in your checked bags.   Take off your shoes, take out your laptop, and watch your belongings, because I've heard of thieves at the airport jacking your stuff while you're not looking at the checkpoint

#4  Go to your GATE, it'll be on the boarding pass, along with your name, seat #, etc.

#5  And now, for the fun part, you wait til you board.  5 Hour delays!! :-)
