She said they had babies all the time and she didn't have time for them at all. She didn't offer that much info but I had read alot of books and articles about the caring before purchasing them. She said that with them changing homes they would not have babies anymore because the move would stress them a bit. She always had them in a back room, but I put them in my living room so they would be able to see alot and hear alot of noises and excitement. You can't really mess with them alot cause they aren't use to it and they bite something awful! OUCH!!!! But I have only had them about a week and have enjoyed listening to them whistle and watch them play with their many toys. When I got them they had a baby with them that was about 5 weeks old and I have really tried messing with the baby to get her use to me. I would like for them to have one more set of babies so I may buy another cage and keep another baby that I can teach things too. Will they still mate? Please help. THanks

  1. just don't play any Barry White.

  2. persionaly i think that they will still mate just not as much and try not to put that much stress on them(dog barking, doorbell ringing, and loud noises) tell me if it helps  i hope this did

  3. Yes it's still possible for them to have another baby, but if they stay together and get used to the house, they may have more than one, how old are they? I would try to socialize them to people, because if you get them to be tame, you will have the best days of your life with those birds.  One of the reasons the birds will not let you handle them is because if you put two birds in one cage and they are familiar with each other they will prefer each other over you, so if you separate them now but take them out to play with each other their is a good chance that you can get them to be tame and even happier.  I wouldn't recommend them having another baby though unless you understand what it takes if you want to hand feed it.  I would do some research on hand feeding if I were you and separate the parent birds, but allow them to play with each other so you can have a good chance of taming them.

  4. Yes as long as they are comfortable in their new environment they will continue to breed.  It may just take them a bit to settle in.  Just make sure they have access to a nest box, fresh foods and are getting light for about 14hrs a day

  5. I believe in time they may mate and have babies. It would seem to be after an adjustment period. How long, maybe until next spring. Not sure.

  6. Even though they changed places they have a good chance of having baby's it wont be long till they mate again.it takes a mounth for the egg to hatch so it should not be long, the bird will consider the dog as a natural thing in there surrondings in about 1 week to a mounth   ,   good luck
