  1. I always go with two thirds but anything over 1000 is really expencive so I normally stop at 1200 watts so if they are 1200 watts peak each just get one 1200 watt amp and forget the whole close as possible thing you will just blow the speakers. if they are 1200 watt combined ie two 600 watt subs than you should get an 800 watt amp but pay close attention to rms and peak power you don't want to blow your subs the first time you turn them on. PS pay attention to how many ohms you are running and if your speakers are dual voice coil you don't want to blow your amp either.

  2. I always avoid the "peak power" ratings.  I owned a sub that could handle 1200 watts RMS, and I had an amp that was rated to produce 1200 RMS in bridged mono.  Lets just say that I went though more than a couple of voice coils.  If you have two subs at 1200 peak, I wouldn't run anything more than 300 rms to each.  Even then, you need to be careful of your gains and playing loud for an extended period of time..

  3. definitely not a 1200 watt amp. u need like 420 rms amp. and thats to be split between the two.

ignore peak power as far as subs and amps go, thats only how much it getws on like a load *** note or continuos pounding or w/e.

  4. If you push your subs to thier peak they arent going to last long and will most likely blow in your first serious use. Stick to the rms. If your head unit is good enough you should be able to get heaps of power out of the subs. Im guessing that the RMS is around 380 watt? Trust me 2 subs at 380 watts is heaps if used correctly
