  1. It is very high in protein content but most likely your dog should be fine. I prefer to use regular Innova, but that's just me. If you want when you start running out buy a bag of the regular and switch her onto it.

  2. This is a fantastic DOG food. If your shepherd is a puppy, I would highly recommend getting a food with a protein level of about 24% or so. Timberwolf Organics is my all time favorite dog food, though it is fairly pricey (If you just bought Evo though, I don't think that's a problem). The high levels of protein in this food are acceptable once bone development has stopped at around a year and a half for shepherds. Feeding Evo to your dog can cause the dog to grow too fast. This can cause complications such as panosteitis, and hip dysplasia. I plan on switching my shepherd to this food once he reaches the appropriate age, as it will encourage great muscle development, a healthy coat, and great energy. If you feel like your dog is in need of a little something extra in their food, give them raw eggs with the shell, raw chicken gizzards or necks, carrots, raw calf liver, raw ground meats, and apples. They love it and it's great for them.

Best of luck with your shepherd!

  3. I'm not sure why bought small bites, but other than that Evo Red Meat is a good food.

It does have very high protein content, but if your dog is quite active, it should be fine.

Just watch and make sure no signs of kidney disfunction manifest themselves in your dog, that's the only real concern.

  4. I would take it back and get something like Innova large breed or California natural. Large breeds cant handle lots of protein like smaller ones can.
