I just bought The Kenwood

Question

I just bought The Kenwood KDC-MP438U stereo with the USB terminal in the front. I have a MICRO CENTER 1G USB drive that i am trying to put music on so it will work in my stereo. I put the music that i wanted on there but when i put it in my stereo it wouldnt work. How do i get it to work?
