Should I be worried? Can it be repaired? Also I'm not sure but it seams as if there is a little string of silicone inside it. Does any one else have an Aqua Culture 10 Gallon Aquarium Kit? Did it work good?

  1. Don't worry, as long as it doesn't reach the inners of the tank.

  2. Don't be to worried about it only worry if it get bigger. One of my friends tanks was cracked for 5 years and nothing happened.

  3. depends on where you bought it. if you have bought it through private sale you wont get a refund or exchange. you could repair it but if your not handy with your hands, just hit a second hand shop and get another one cheap. its not like its a large tank and will be hard to replace. if your going to repair it make sure you get good quality silicone and be sure to let it cure for at least 24 hours before you put the water back. your fish can live in a bucket or something for a day. depending on where the crack is, you may not need to replace the sheet of glass. if it is near or on an edge i would replace it. if it is at the top, i would repair it and put it at the back so it would not be seen.

  4. The only repair you can make is using some water proof silicone. It'll still be noticable if it's not that small. Do something, or exhange or get a new one, otherwise the crack will get worse over time. You don't want it to split through and have a miniature flood in your house! Good luck.

  5. return it..with time the tank can break with the weight of the water...If I were you I would never take that risk..

  6. If it isnt all the way through it should be ok. But keep in mind that water weighs 8lbs per gallon. So you have 80lbs of constant pressure on that crack at all times. The only way to repair it is with silicone, or any other water proof (fish safe) sealant.

Or you can just return the tank and get a new one, 10 gallon tanks arent really that expensive.

  7. i would take it back. would you pay for a window in your house if it came cracked?

  8. There is some fish tank friendly glue type stuff u can buy at your local pet shop to hender it from getting any worse. However, if you do nothing the crack could get worse due to the constant pressure of the water. If returning it is not an option you should definately look into the tank friendly glue. Hope all works out for you.
