  1. Like the first person said, very few vets do this. I own a Dobe, mine has a docked tail but not cropped ears. I'm not a big fan of cropped ears but I'm not against it. Dogs go through a lot of pain when getting ears cropped. Dobermans look great either way, heres my Dobe Tyson

  2. You're not going to like this...

There a VERY FEW vets that do ear cropping anymore...

Sorry I can't help you with your actual question because ear cropping is comepletely unnecisary ( accept for YOUR asthestic value ) and is CRUEL .

Most caring vets simply will not do it anymore because it is mutilation and NOT required in the show ring ! ! ! !

  3. ask the breeder or start calling vets. ear cropping is NOT cruel it is done at a young age before the nerves in the ears are fully developed, i had 2 Dobermans with their ears cropped and all my Pit Bulls ears are cropped, never had a problem with any of them as a result of cropped ears, its a personal preference and is done to working breeds.

  4. Town & Country Animal Clinic in Greenville Mi does a fantastic crop.

(616)754-4992.   They may be a little far away from you, but I have never seen a bad crop done by them.  I can tell you that they have a cut-off  when they won't do a crop after a puppy is a certain age.

  5. Definitely ask your puppy's breeder for a recommendation to a good vet.  And hurry!  You've only got until the puppy is 13 weeks old maximum for the ears to be cropped.

  6. If you got your Dobbie from a breeder, they should be able to recommend a good vet for cropping.

I usually appreciate cropped ears, but unless you're planning on showing your dog [and even then I don't think it's a requirement anymore] you might consider just leaving your puppy's ears alone. My first Great Dane had her ears cropped; my current one does not. It would save you money to leave them, plus it's a pain to spend time training/taping. Sometimes, despite your best efforts, one or both ears won't stand up straight anyway!
