  1. don't leave it on all day all night, otherwise you will have a max about 5 years,

  2. Clean the screen with Monster Screen Cleaning Kit available at Radio Shack for $20....that'll protect that plastic screen, but be careful not to push too hard, it should be a light wiping motion until the cleaner/polish is worked into the screen.....

Now....if you WANT to do this you can, but I really don't suggest it....

A Fan blowing air into your TV set from the bottom will reduce HEAT....and that heat translates into Loose solder connections, and dried out caps....the two most notorious failures in all TV sets....

But a fan certainly looks goofy blowing into a TV set doesn't it....

Another thing....TVs HATE being turned on because all that voltage stresses parts....of course you don't want it on all night and all day either.....

So what you do is MINIMISE turn on's....I tell my customers if they are going to mow the lawn or go to the grocery store and they ANTICIPATE that they will return to watch more TV.....

Leave it on....that's one less time the TV gets stressed during power ups.....

And have you ever noticed that most of the Time, TVs die when First turned on? Hardly ever in the middle of a TV show, but when it's turned on.....

That shows you that parts break when all that energy is applied to an already "weakened" part. THEN you have to get it fixed....

Reduce the turn ons and you delay the inevitable failure that happens to all TV sets.....

And you might get lucky enough to delay it to 18 years, so you can just get another TV set to replace it.....

  3. You only have to clean it when it's dirty, but don't use paper towels, Windex or anything with alcohol or ammonia.  Only use a LCD screen cleaning kit, which includes a microfiber cloth. Also using a good surge protector may increase it's lifespan.

  4. IS a LCD TV,not A 380,just take is easy. how you care for you old TV ? do it the same way. take it easy. no spam or spy ware can come into you LCD TV. beware you wife to switch it on 24 hr a day....ha..ha...
