What the heck is HDMI and how will it benefit me?

I dont have a cable box just regular cable...

    HDMI is just a cable standard for connecting your tv to things. It's the easiest way of connecting a DVD player or Blu-ray player to your tv since both the sound and the picture come through it so you only need one cable for the hookup.

    There are some other details dealing with digital rights managements and other things that you don't need to know. Main thing for you is it will give you the clearest picture with the easiest hookup.


  2. It's a digital connection that has the video and audio signals in it. In order to see true HD, you need to get an HD cable box with digital service. The cable box will have an hdmi output that you would simply plug in to the TVs hdmi input. Don't waste a lot of money on cables in retail stores, buy them online and you'll save big. I like monoprice.com but there are many others.
