Did you buy the TiVo brand wireless adapter for your TiVo box? Do you have the TiVo desktop software installed on your computer?

Only the TiVo brand wireless adapter will work. A word of advice. Once you have installed the software and have the wireless adapter set up on your TiVo box. Before you connect to your network you will have to make your network have no password protection. Once you have connected your TiVo and do the updates you can put all the settings back the way you had them.  I was having problems with my set up because I didn't know to turn off the security on my network. If you want to convert your transferred TV shows to MP4 you can, but you will have to upgrade the TiVo desktop software for a small fee (less than $20.00 I believe).

This is the exact same set up that I have. Yes you do need the USB antenna for the TiVo to see your wireless router. The bigest problem I have heard of is that people often forget the keycode they enter in the router when it gets set up. You will need this to allow your TiVo antenna to go through the router and then your home is set up with a wireless network. I love it.

When I downloaded the TiVo desktop it was free and I do believe it still is if you have valid addresses and the TiVo can connect to the TiVo website. I upgraded to the desktop plus and there was a small $25 fee for the upgrade. With the upgrade and my computer I need nothing more to burn to DVD's.

Here is another problem, you can burn to DVD but unless the computer you try to play the DVD on has TiVo desktop it won't work. You need muvee movie maker or one of the dozen out there. I also had to download Quick Time player from Apple for the desktop to work. This is free but I went with the upgrade for $32 and I can use this to burn to portable multimedia players. This will play video also.

You are going to be very happy with what you have. The wife will be mad that you will not be paying much attention to her because you are going to be at your computer trying to see what you can get it to do.

One more thing I now do. While waiting at the doctors office I watch my TV shows from my now playing list on the TiVo. Waiting for the doc, dentist or at the kids games I have some entertainment. Enjoy. If you have questions feel free to e-mail me. I hope this helps, Good Luck!
