  1. For the thousandth time...

THere is NO "72 hour cooling off period" when it comes to car purchases.  Not 72 hours, 72 minutes, even 72 seconds.  Once ink is on paper you have made a binding contract.  You do not have the *right* to undo the contract.

You can go to the dealership and talk to them.  Explain that you are not happy with the car, and ask if yo ucan change to something else.  Its unlikely they will just tear up the contract and send you on your way.  Most likely they will want you to pick another vehicle from their inventory.  But remember, they dont HAVE to do anything.  They are holding all the cards on this.  Even if you refuse to give the down payment, they can sue you for it since its on the contract.  So, this is where nice, calm, and rational discussions prevail.  Talk to them, try to get to a mutually beneficial arrangement.  Otherwise, enjoy the new car.

  2. If you have signed the deal already they dont have to take it back and there is no "cooling off" or grace period. Since it was yesturday and you havnt given them the down payment yet they probably havnt submitted the contract and had the car registered to you yet. If you havnt put to many miles on the car yet and its in the exact same condition as when you took it they might do you a favor and take it back, they dont have to but they might. I would contact them ASAP today and tell them whats going on, even better show up (and be ready to leave the car there) and talk to the GM if you can, maybe if you let them find a different car for you to buy from them they will let you return yours.

  3. Get it back as fast as you can before you damage it. Most often they will treat this as a test ride.If you're in the states I believe you have 72 hours to change your mind.

  4. I am sorry to break this to you. But if you have signed any formal Finance contract then its not possible.

This is not a $40 Shirt from Wal-Mart that you can return since it doesn't fit. The moment you walked out, its your car. There is no return. Not 3 days not 3 hours. Nothing!

The only exception would be if the bank does not approve your financing. But if that has gone through, you are out of luck. The dealer has absolutely nothing to gain in taking the car back. He has everything to loose in accepting it back. So it's not gonna happen!!

Your options are to either pay off the car & then sell it. Or refinance that loan with the bank to lower the payments.

  5. Most Dealers will let you return it... You might lose some money for driving it but you should be able to return... If not sell it on Ebay... They move cars fast...

  6. Car dealerships do not have a return policy, however, if you have not given them the down payment something tells me they don't have a clean deal, therefore all bets are off. If you have a clue as to what you signed or didn't sign, you might have a leg to stand on as far as returning the car.

  7. depends on the dealership, but try to return it... immediately, today.

  8. If you have not signed any papers yet.Just return it.If you have signed papers return it You should have 3 days to change your mind with out penalty.Good Luck

  9. If you have already taken possession of the vehicle, no, it along with the payments is yours. There is no cooling off period as others and I have said repeatedly. Use this as a learning experience and don't rush into a deal next time. Enjoy your car.
