I just bought a gears

Question

i just bought a gears of war pc game on ebay and installed it. When i try to play the game, it stops working as it loads and i receive a microsoft windows notification saying that the game has stopped working and details of the problem will be sent to me. What could be wrong? My laptops specs are Intel Core 2 Duo 2.00GHz with a NVIDIA GeForce 9300M GS card, 4GB RAM and 250gb HDD.
