I just bought a guitar, is it normal that abit of color is comming off the neck when i play ?

its a BeaverCreek guitar, 3/4" and its my first. the neck is play but some color is definatly comming off because the thinist strings and turing blackish and my fingers have some color of black

  1. It may be something coming off the neck too, not just string issues (if you just got it, they probably aren't that old, unless it sat in the store for a long time).  It's not a big deal though, if it wears off some it'll just look vintage, which is cool anyways.  With time it will probably stop.


  2. It's probably from the shoe polish the mexican artist used to put the finish on it.  I have NEVER HEARD of a "Beaver Creek" guitar.. but I have seen guitars LIKE IT... hanging in Mexican stores with rubber bands for strings... but they are cheap... you can get one for just $50

  3. The color is not coming off the neck. The black is tarnish from the strings. Just buy a new set of strings.
