I bought a home freezer from Costco recently...it's a Danby DCF401W.

I want to install it with the Iceland bar outlet in the Kitchen, which has a separate breaker. Is okay? The freezer manual stated that it need a free standing installation.

Also, I thought of plugging it into an outlet in my living room (which is convenient, because it's an apartment). However, when I switch the breaker off at that location, it turns off my DVD, VCR, TV, radio, fax, phone, lamp, and answering machine (7 outlets all together, with a couple extensions). There is one outlet left...I'm not sure if I can use it?

The freeze size is...

63.2 cm L x 55.8 cm W x 83.5 cm H

(24.9 in. L x 22.0 in. W x 32.9 in. H)

  1.       You will need to check the manual for the type of circuit the freezer needs. Most only need a 15 amp circuit. If the bar out let is 15 amp It will probably be alright to use it. You can check your breaker to see what size it is. The munber stamped on the lever is the amperage of the breaker. If the unit requires a 20 amp circuit it will need a 20 amp breaker. You should not just change the breaker to fit the unit you are putting in. Because the breaker size is deturmend by the wire size.
