The lady I bought her from was the one who actually rescused her. She put weight back on her and did some work with her. She used to be so affraid of a saddle you couldnt get on near her. She can be saddled now and she is very well behaved once I'm on her. but when I cinch the saddle or go to get on she bites at me and sometimes kicks. She became aggressive not affraid from the abuse. I could use some advise.

  1. My great-grandpa was a cherokee indian (you can't tell by my looks) and he told me that if you breathe into a horses nostrils gently, they will serve you faithfully. I hope it is a good enough bit of advice to help with this poor horse. Good luck.

  2. bless you for helping ,be very patient ...abuse is so cruel it takes a while to trust again . I wish they would put idiots that abuse away where they belong.shame people do this kind of stuff and get by with it.if someone abused me i would get mean too . help her learn to trust by kindness and love, don't ask too much too quick

  3. First, congratulations for helping this horse.  Second,  she may need more retraining.  If she is seriously trying to hurt you, and not just registering her displeasure with the girth,  I would suggest sending her to a trainer who knows how to properly use a round pen.  I'm a fan of John Lyons techniques.
