i don't really know anything about amps. i just bought a kicker zx1000.1 mono amp. and i'm going to buy dual kicker cvr's 12' with box and is 2 ohm each subs. it has 1600 watts peak and 800 watts rms.

the amp is 500w x 1 RMS power at 4 ohms and 1000w x 1 RMS power at 2 ohms.

i don't know what that means at all. i want to know would it be able to hook up together without any problems. and is that amp too much power and would it do damage to the subs or the amp itself. also how would i hook it up. thanks.

  1. k if u havent bought the 12s yet then def go wit the 15s cuz i have the same amp wit 2 15in cvrs and its friggin awesome. its so loud. but yea u will want 2 2ohm subs to wire that right...

  2. Are the speakers dual or single voice coil?  If they are single... wire in series they are a 4 ohm load.  Wired in parallel they are a 1 ohm load.  If they are dual I would wire them in series parallel giving you a 2 ohm load.  Is the amp 1 ohm stable?

  3. yes they will work and that is the right stuff. be sure to get the cvr 2 ohm the 4 ohm wont work
