I just bought a lace front wig and the glue is way to sticky?

Question

What can i do with the glue, its sticky, and when i put it on it just streches real long out from the wood thing that i apply it with, and it won't spred out, it just sticks and i get it everywhere. what can i do? there are no salons around here that deals with extensions, or wigs,so i gotta do it myself. plaese let me know ehat im doing wrong, the glue is on a little bottel and its clear, please give me alternatives for applying it, or how i can use the glue.
