I am trying to connect this new desktop computer to a broadband network using a wireless adapter (WG111v2 by Netgear). So the first thing I do is bring the new desktop over near the modem and router and take the ethernet cable and plug it directly into the computer, still no connection to the internet... So then I take internet cable that goes directly from the wall to the router and plug that into the computer and I bet you know what happened... no connection. So I put both cables back into the router and go on the internet on the other slow computer (not the new one) and go to http://www.netgear.com and select the click the Netgear compatibility button. I scroll down to the wireless adapters option and click on the one that says WG111v2. When the new page opens, there are a bunch of versions. I click on the latest one near the top and it opens a new page. I scroll down and attempt to download it. I've tried to put it onto 5 different blank discs (which are all content/audio compatible). And it doesn't work... So I try to put it into a flashdrive and still, no working... please help me!!! I need this computer for the internet A.S.A.P.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thank you.

  1. well there is your first problem... you bought an HP.

If you are having problems with your wireless then there really isnt much I can diagnose over what you have said. It might be as simple as one of the connections is being interfered or something as complecated as hardware failure. Your best bet is to call a tech specialist and have him help you, not ask here.
