  1. There is a funny thing about a new boat, they don't make you a better fisherman. A number of years ago my great Uncle was a registered Maine guide He took two men back into the wilds to do some fishing and hunting. These two men had the most beautiful fishing rods and reels the latest in fishing equipment. My uncle told these men to come back in for lunch about 12:00 noon time and they would have lunch. One asked what are we having? My uncle said that we are having fresh fish and potatoes. As he was telling these fellows what was for lunch he took out a string about six feet long and put a hook on it and reached into the lard can and took or a very small piece of fat back. He was starting to walk away and one of them said you don't think that you are going to catch anything with that outfit do you? My uncle didn't pay much attention to them.  These two fellows came walking in and said well we haven't had much luck, I guess we will be having fried potatoes for lunch. My uncle said that he hoped that they were hungry as there was enough for all to have their fill. He caught 12 (12 is the limit) nice sized brook trout. It is not the equipment but the fisherman

  2. If it's still alil cold try Up  and around near a Dam or they may have started to make there way down

  3. No the fish aren't gone lol.  Try fishing in new places and places that have good coverage.  Fish tend to live and feed around areas with a lot of cover, trees and such.  Also, choose the time of day you go wisely, don't head out in the middle of the day when the fish aren't feeding or are just chillin at the bottom.  Go around feeding times and after a good rain, the fish head towards the top and banks to look for worms and bugs that came out after the rain.  Just find cover and chose the time of day wisely.  Maybe change your bait too.  Change to something like a bitsy minnow spinner or even a sinkker spinner, those tend to get just about anything: blue gill, bass, shinners, anything.

  4. Well don't know where you live or what you are fishing for but ask the local fisherman or go to a boat dock and ask what is going on.

  5. Take your time and learn the lake your on,  get maps and such . Try and fish prime areas and dont think there is a better spot down the lake somewhere and spend all day running back and forth looking for the fish.

Basically pick a few areas you want to fish and concentrate on them and try and go during good weather , Maybe go early or stay late as fish bite better then than in midday.

    Good Fishing

  6. yeah, all the fish are gone! tragic huh?  bet you are kicking yourself in the butt for buying that boat huh?  maybe you will sell it cheap now that the fish are gone?  or maybe you can take up water skiing?  HA HA!  seriously congrats on your new boat and good luck with the fish!
