The back of these speakers have two terminals. One that controls the low speaker and one that controls the high speakers. I have been using my receiver as a two channel receiver as a two channel receiver, but it can be set to a surround sound receiver with 5 channels ( 2 front 2 rear and a center). How should I connect the speakers to the receiver. Right know there connected on two channels and I'm kinda just piggy backing both terminals to one channel. Should I use the surround sound feature to connect the speakers? The problem I see with this is that the surround sound feature is for both rear and front speakers and all I have is the two speakers. Any ideas? Here are the speakers http://fluance.com/fluanhigthre.html

  1. Surround feature to connect speakers. Buy additional speakers.

Fluance™ Home Cinema Acoustic Center Channel Speaker

  2. The way you have it hooked up could possibly hurt your receiver if the impedance is too low.  These speakers are designed to be bi-amped.  This means that you use a separate amp to amplify the lows from the mids and highs.  Using the surround channels to power them will result in poor sound.  The best way to hook them up is to hook the top terminal to the speaker A terminal on your receiver, and the bottom terminal to the speaker B terminal on the receiver and run both A and B simultaneously.

    Good luck.
