I just bought a springfeild XD40 5" tactical

Question

i bought the gun and im woundering if there is anybody out there that has an XD and if they are happy with it. and if there are any pointers about the gun that i may need in the future!?!

I have the 5" .45acp and the 4" 9mm. I love the XD. Other than just keeping a firm grip and using your dominant eye...I have nothing for you. Enjoy your new XD and shoot safely.

I own the exact same model. It is a great gun. I am hoping to upgrade the sights to the trijicon night sights in the near future as I will be using it as a home defense weapon. Always on target at 25 yards. Field strip is simple as can be. One downfall is a solid safety mechanism. Reloading requires the the tool, without it you will be fighting your way to a full clip.

I personally would like to purchase the XDm which now features a 16 shot clip.

Practice your draw. My hands are too small to consistently grip the safety.
