  1. I assume you want to do this to increase spin.

I should think you'd have to take the finish off it to get it started. There's a product out there called naval jelly, which is designed to remove rust, but which I assure you will strip the finish off nearly anything.

Once you've got the finish off, put a wet towel around the club and keep it moist.

  2. Believe it or not Cola Cola syrup(not diet) will  eat off any finish fast try coating it in it for a few hours not to long this stuff is caustic and we drink it???? but coat it then wash it off then wrap in a wet rag make sure the rag has a corner sitting in a cup of water capillary action will keep it wet helping the rusting action it will still take a number of weeks or months but will speed it up

  3. Cleveland RTG 588 clubs are known for their "rusting" feature.  I use a 60° & 57° Cleveland RTG, both have rusted nicely and have a very soft feel on ball contact.  Also, a bit more bite.

    Here's a Cleveland webpage:

  4. muratic acid . is it the rusty modei or satin model if it is satin or chrome leave it . unless you have high clubhead speed rust wedges waste of time and money , if tou have to have surace removed of chrome or satin . take clib to gunsmith . they will sand blast the finish off for you . total cost 2 dollars . if you wanted gun metal finish  black they also can do that . when head gets fross with rust stick it in 7 up .

  5. Simple:

Submerge the wedge up to the top of the hosel in a bowl of water and then dump in a bunch of table salt. It will rust like a mutha in there! Pull it out every so often and stir the water to agitate the salt, then reinsert. Let it sit for about a week...and when you take it out for the last time don't dry it, just let it drip dry.

I used to do this to my RTG at the end of every season and let it sit all winter, then it would have a nice dark coat of rust on it come spring.

Also, contrary to popular belief this has no effect on spin, the reason for a raw finish wedge is just to cut down on glare.

    Good Luck!
