I just bought a used 1996 Olds LSS, loaded. How can I tell if it has keyless entry?

All websites state that keyless entry is standard on this car, but the owners manual states that it is an option.

Call the dealer and give them the VIN.  They can look it up and tell you whether it came equipped with keyless entry and can sell you a key fob that is guaranteed to work.
