If the paint is in good  comdition I would learn to like it. A quality paint job will run you around $2000. If you have never painted a car don't try it your self. It  takes a lot of know how and equipment and I will garentee you that you will s***w it up.

very hard question, if you have no major dents or scratches macco or however you spell it will paint your car for about 3 to 4 hundred dollars. but its a very dull finish. for a nice quality clearcoat that is usually a bit better than what modern cars are coming with it will cost you at least 800 (depends on car size) for just the outside of the car, at least 1200 for the outside and the door jams and such. but keep in mind these are low prices as i have searched around quite a bit, usually will be in between 1000 and 2000 dollars for a nice paint job, you will also pay more since you are going from red to a darker color

I was planning on re-painting a car myself, using an air compressor spray gun. I figured it would cost around $200-$300 AUD to respray it. But it is hard work, sanding the whole car back and if you want to remove the engine just to do it.
