bringing him home to my grey. I got a good deal and that was part of the reason i didn't get a vet check, and he looked pretty healthy, if not very hand tamed. Am I an idiot, or just impulsive?

  1. Oooooh.   Impulsive.  Definitely.

If the bird was such a great deal, you should have saved enough for a vet check.  That doesn't make sense.  I would rather pay more for a bird that comes with a proven clean bill of health, than get a great "deal", and risk the life of my bird.

Bringing a new bird home, without a full vet exam and 30-45 day quarantine, is reckless.  You could wind up with two dead birds.

Birds hide illness.  By the time it's noticed, it's often too late.

Keep those birds separate, and get that new bird to a vet.  Keep it quarantined, until you are sure it's disease and parasite free.

  2. Just give him time- and don't let the fear of biting him show- eventually he'll realize his bites aren't getting a response and soon that problem will be gone.

Maybe he's jst really scared- new place, new sounds, new people, etc.

Well let me know how it goes
