I am using paul mitchells shampoo and conditioner. The shampoo leaves my hair feeling conditioned and wonderful, but the conditioner makes it feel like I haven't washed it in a few days. Kindof greasy. My dad says it feels smooth, but I just hate it. I don't know what to do. Does anyone know why it makes my hair feel so gross?

  1. I HATE SUPER SKINNY.  It leaves a film on your hair.  This is some of the heaviest stuff I have ever used.  Return it to the salon.  Don't waste your time on it.  You may want to try Matrix Sleek, Redkin smooth down, or Aquage( I do not remember the name of their smoothing conditioner and shampoo and it may be hard to find).  Use a clarifying shampoo to get the build up out.

  2. The chemical balance of your hair may not agree with the chemical balance of the conditioner. Or your hair may not need the conditioning so much. Yes, that is possible!

Try using only the shampoo without the conditioner and then the next time adding the conditioner. If you get the same greasy ick feeling then you know that it doesn't agree with your hair and it's time to move on to another brand.

Remember that it's just a brand, and no matter how good it's supposed to be, it's your hair that decides.

    All the best!

  3. i've had that problem before and it drove me crazy too. make sure you're using a very small amount of conditioner. my stylist says to use about a nickel-sized drop. also, apply it only to your middle to ends, from about where your hair hits the bottom of your ears, to the ends. maybe the conditioner just doesn't agree with the makeup of your hair. you could always stay with the shampoo but ask your hair stylist to recommend a different conditioner.

  4. Hello, I'm a stylist.  I usually wouldn't tell anyone this, but if the conditioner is making it greasy don't use it.  HOWEVER, make sure you use a leave-in conditioner daily and try a heat protecting spray when using a curling or flat iron.  I hope this helps!

  5. Just use the conditioner on your ends because if you put it all over your hair it will make it flat and oily.  But Biolace conditioner works really well for me and i use it all over my hair.  Try to use that because it makes my hair so smooth, soft, shiny, and fresh!

  6. maybe you didn't wash it all out.

just put the conditioner on the ends of your hair, not on the roots.

  7. conditioner then shampoo

  8. Mix shampoo in your hand w/ baking soda once a week to get rid of oil and build up. The kind you bought may be too conditioning for your hair type.

  9. The super skinny line is for very frizzy, dry, damaged hair. It leaves an oily coating, making the hair smooth and easier to comb. If your hair is silky, fine, and/or healthy, super skinny *will* leave your hair kind of...gross.

A small amount goes a long way. Try to avoid getting the conditioner on your roots and scalp. Rinse thoroughly, then rinse again :). If that doesn't help, try switching to Paul Mitchell's Shampoo Two or the extra body line (purple label).

  10. Wash, rinse, wash, & rinse again

then use the conditioner, but make sure you rinse all of the conditioner out.
