I just bought the Garmin 850 GPS yesterday and it was working fine, but now it doesn't seem to able to charge?

I have tried charging it from the car and the USB cord, and I do not have an AC adapter and would prefer to not buy one.

It could be a new defective Garmin 850 unit or a defective battery.

To make sure, visit Garmin website and download the latest firmware update 3.0 https://buy.garmin.com/shop/store/downlo...

If it is within the warranty period, take it back to the retailer that you purchased it from and exchange it for a new one.
