***I just broke my pinky?!

go to a hospital immediately. i broke my hand and waited a day to go to the hospital and because of my waiting, i had to have hand surgery. i suggest seeing a doctor ASAP.

Possibly...  unless your finger is like all bent out of shape, you really won't know without an xray.  So see your doctor first and soon.

If it is broken (a simple fracture), but not displaced...  your doctor can splint it or cast it.  If it is displaced, s/he will have to set it and cast it which most docs don't do... or send you to an orthopedic doc (bone doctor) who will decide to just set it or if it needs to be pinned to have it heal properly.  It just depends on how bad the break is.

If it is not broken, a simple splint will suffice to prevent further injury.

If you are sure that it is broken you should go to the ER to have it set and splinted. If you don't have insurance you can splint it yourself by taping it to the finger next to it and use a popsicle stick to keep it straight if you have one or something similar. Take some ibuprofen for the pain and inflammation and apply ice in  15 minute intervals and keep it elevated and this will help with the pain.

I suggest going to the doctor so they can fix it for you and wrap it appropriately. If you wait it out, it won't heal as well.
