  1. no it's not. Once you put heavy metals in your body they never come out. Avoid breathing dust and collect all the pieces and place them in a heavy duty ziplock bag. Get a five gallon bucket with a lid, and store your broken or burned out compact florecent bulbs there. Place each bulb in it's own bag. When the bucket is full, contact your local recyling center about proper disposal.
