  1. aloe? i use it when i get burnt............

  2. Cold water will be enough

if it is too serious i mean you can see flesh then hospital would be the best place

  3. silvadene cream is your cream of choice.  Still, in such an area people will look at, you're likely better off keeping it clean, dry and free of hair spray until you can deal with it--as long as you don't have a full thickness burn on your hands.

Don't put any vaseline or pretoleum products on your burn.  You may get a way with matching the color of the burn with the rest of the ear for blending.  Don't put makeup on the burn itself.

Consider an NSAID or Analgesic for pain (motrin/tylenol) and take with food.  The antiinflammatory and some cold soda can to the ear may help u feel a little better.

Burns like these usually clear up after a few days.  They do usually blister, don't pop them either. As the burns heal though you can start putting some bacitractin or vitamin d to prevent scarring and drying out too much.  Let it run it course and you be more congnisent of where your hair straightener is :)

EDIT:  Don't use toothpaste. It's cooling effect on the mouth will not work on the burn.  It will act more like vaseline (not to mention it has properties specific to teeth) with a thick smell that can stick to your burn--and make it worse.  I've see people try this and were miserable.  Not worth it.  Still, a suggestion is why we're here so I'm not knocking the help--just trying to alleviate further problems.  Nothing personal.

  4. Run cold water over it... but that's kinda difficult if it's your ear, isn't it? Put an ice pack on... or an ice cube. Or soak a piece of kitchen towel in cold water and press it to the burnt area. Then it should stop hurting.

Then if you have any, apply burn-cream onto it to soothe it. You can get some at your local chemist if you want to. I think you can also try toothpaste...?

EDIT: Ah, the guy above said not to use toothpaste. I just had a vauge memory of my cousin burning herself when she was little and they put toothpaste on her... so yeah, you should probably listen to him. He sounds experienced... :)

    Um... hope this helped!

  5. with what? connecting you to a spaz doctor

  6. Silvadene cream is great but prescription only and since you can't put your ear under running water, get an ice cube in a baggie and hold it against your ear. You want to keep it clean and cool. Put some aloe vera gel on it or cocoa butter or plain butter. Shortening will work too.

  7. Ive done this so many times to myself, however i usually do it on the top of my head so it looks really nasty and i have to comb my fringe over it. Try to put something cooling on it, ice would be best. Not only will this soothe the burn but it'll also reduce any swelling that may have been caused. I doubt that this will be a serious burn, i do it all the time and the burn usually heals up in a couple of days. If the burn does blister, dont pop the blister, let this happen on its own. If you pop the blister you'll have an open wound and all sorts of dirt and bacteria can get in.

    Goodluck hun =]
