I just came back from India....Is it just me cause It seemed like the Elephants are starving?

This made me very angry.

How dare people use these poor innocent animals as slaves and not feed them enough food.SELFISH

Solution?...2 LET THEM go FREE SO THE CAN EAT PROPERLY?

Is there a charity or place that i can donate to help feed the poor Elephants?

donate to a cause in your own country. there must be many such causes there where a donation is required, we will take care of our elephants.

in india PEOPLE ARE STARVING......we care for people first then ELEPHANTS and other animals....donate to help the starving street children or to an orphanage.

In Bouddhist times, there were free hospitals for people and animals all over India.

Those times have long passed.

I haven't made it to India yet... Still gearing up... after repeated warnings to brace myself for some deplorable sights.

where are the people gonna get their elephants food form. your grocery bill would be over the roof. unless u could go to the park and let your elephant eat food there.

My older sister was in India back in the early 70'sfor a month.

i also had a wealthy American friend who's husband was from India.

I think India has plenty of money but it is in the hands of a small percent of selfish people.

My sister said when she was over there, she couldn't give money to everyone on the street because the need was too great.

She did give some to a begging man who was carrying around his dead friend, he was begging for money for wood so that he could burn his body.

Sounds like that country needs some major changes.

You have not thought things through. I doubt that elephants are starving in India. Indian elephants are of different genus.

Asian Elephant:

The Asian elephant, Elephas maximus, is smaller than the African. It has smaller ears, and typically, only the males have large external tusks.

To your ignorant eyes they might have looked thin.

Do you realize that their natural habitat is disappearing, and most of these elephants are bred in captivity and could not survive in the wild on their own. There are poachers out there who would kill them, where as man protects his animals.

Elephants in captivity are as starved as are horses, cows, pigs, dogs, cats, rats, snakes, birds, lizards, and all sort of animals which Americans keep as pets.

Most of these pets require cages, chains or leashes.

Every animal deserves to be free, India or America. But, we humans have depended on animals for long. Unless and until we shed this dependency by relying more on machines the animals can never be truly free.

Then, you will have to close all zoos too.
