I just can't get myself to ride the tall rides at Cedar Point?

I LOVE roller coasters. I want to grow up to be a roller coaster designer but I just can't get myself to ride anything tall like the Magnum, or the Millenium or anything like that. I want to become more involved with roller coasters to pursue my career (which is still far away) So i don't want to get off track! (pun intended) So please help me... oh, and keep it in the direction of Cedar Point. I went on the Gemini when I was 8 I think, and I didn't like it. The tallest I've been on since then is the Corkscrew... so is it childhood fear? (I was crying on the way up the hill of Gemini... maybe that helps?)

  1. OMG, you're so missing out!! These rides are awesome. You just have to FACE YOUR FEAR - this is the best way to overcome your fear.

  2. yea. just keep on capturing your dreams!

  3. Just know that the roller coasters are worth it, these are some of the best coasters in the world. You'll definitely have tons of fun on these rides. Good luck!

  4. My kids ride the rides the second they are tall enough, but my youngest has been the most apprehensive. He went through the first two months of summer not riding a few things, we went with all of his cousins and all of a sudden he found his bravery. So, riding with friends who like the coasters may help.

It costs so much to get in, it is a waste of money not to hit the big ones. Start small and work your way up, of course the lines are shortest first thing. Sometimes a shorter line helps your fears....you don't have as long to think about it, so maybe this is also an option. Head to Millennium right at 10:00, line is maybe 15 minutes tops usually at that time. No time to get afraid!

  5. Go with a bunch of friends, drink lots of sugary stuff, eat fairy floss, laugh, joke, and then taking the rollercoaster will be not scary at all. You'll be like "HAHAHA YEAHHHH SURREEEE"

  6. Another rCoaster you can can try to build up on is Disaster Transport.  Its the indoor coaster.  Also, Raptor because it is not as tall as Mantis but its the same kind of ride (except you are sitting down).  This is how my brother started. At the begginning of the year all he would go on was iron dragon (which you love).  Then one time he went with our cousin and he was forced on the rides and he loved them!

We just went yesterday and he conquered the Millenium and now the only one he hasnt been on is Dragster.

I guess the only thing you can do is build yourself up to the bigger ones. Just tell yourself that since you loved the Iron Dragon and stuff, you are going to love the next step up (which is probably true)

  7. You understand of course the Cedar Point really is the best amusement park in the states if you are a coaster junkie?  You could start with something simple like the blue streak.  It is not very tall but does have a good speed to it. The mine car ride is not extreme but still exciting. As you get a little bolder go to the Iron Dragon, or the Mantis.  You just have to take the plunge and give out a god scream on the way down for the Magnum or Millennium Force. Part of the fun is the fact that we do get scared on the rides, and that gets our fight or flight response going giving us an adrenaline lift.  Sounds like getting in line for the monster coasters is just what the doctor ordered for you.  Hope you have a good time.

  8. The more you ride coasters the less scary they are.You just have a fear of heights.

  9. What I do is just go on with other people, even if it is just one person. I just take deep breaths and not think about it, I think of other things and try to have fun!
