  1. you have to practice 45 minutes+ every day at least to learn at any kind of decent pace. i use a chord encyclopia ($15 @ guitar center) and that seems to help a lot with the scale structures. lessons might not be necessary if you have talent. it's a big undertaking but well worth it, especially since eventually you should be able to sing and make your own songs.

in a couple months, have a more experienced guitar player try your guitar. ask if the action is fast enough for you to be able to continue learning efficiently. finger strength is very important, and you don't want the action slowing your strong fingers down!

  2. youtube has good vids of ppl tellin u how to play. uhm if not then go to google and just look it up./

  3. Check out:

  4. I can't play the conventional way but I played in 1 day with a device placed in your hand called the 'Guitar Wizard' see www.guitarwiz.co.uk  that you simply move along the fret board and strum or finger pick and music comes out.  I know it's a cheat in the eyes of the purists but you will be able to play music in a day.  It's a great little device and there's one for both electric and acoustic guitars and I love it.  It's great if you don't have the time for regular lessons and won't leave your fingers sore either.

  5. you can look up tabs to songs online as well as ways to play chords and the rest is gonna be easy from there on out

  6. You didn't mention if you are willing to go for the paying sites or that you only want the free sites, (which I don't especially care for, there not very complete, but I'll give you a few anyway.

I hope that something here helps you to get started, I play and teach classical and acoustic, so you know that I'm going to say that your best bet would be to get a private teacher, I'm sure that there's a music store in your area, call around, and get estimates, they really aren't that expensive !!!!!!!! Good luck to you !!!!!!!!

  7. get lessons teaching yourself is HARD

  8. Here are a couple that I think will benefit you most (and be most relevant to you) as a beginner.  While the internet is a great source for guitar lessons, it can be easy to get lost in it all!

http://www.guitarfriendly.net (newish guitar blog with tips, lessons, video lessons--good for the basics and fundamentals)

http://guitar.about.com/library/blguitar... (lots of lessons specific to beginners)

http://www.youtube.com (this is general, but search for beginner guitar lessons--so many good video lessons!)

http://www.freeguitarvideos.com/guitar_l... (it's got some free lessons, but there are some that you have to pay for)

And depending if you want to spend money on an online guitar course here is a good review on the different ones out there:

    Hope this helps!
