My brother and I are homeschooled (we are twins) and its a project based school where we get "credits" in order to pass grades. Anyway, he is so far behind, he needs at least 25 credits to be all caught up by the end of the year. That is ALOT and I have been trying everything to help him get caught up. He is so worried he is going to have to drop out. Then he gets really depressed saying that he isnt going to get no where in life and that he will never get a job. I have been trying to get so much credits of mine just so I can be ahead so I can help him but I am going to be getting a job soon and its just going to be SO hard going to work, coming home, doing MY school work and then helping him with his. I just dont know what else I can do to help him get caught up =(

Does anybody have any tips or advice?

  1. Get your parents involved, they can help.

  2. If you don't mind me asking, what exactly do you have to do to earn the credits? How old is your brother? Why is he slacking off at the first place? My best advice is that have him do what you just did exactly. When you are doing the homework, he should be right next to you doing his.

  3. well by having a job and still taking care of our education and helping him with his should help motivate him and you would be setting a good example for him. tell him that life is going to be hard but if he just gets his act together then he can pull it off just like you are with a job and homeschooling...good luck!!!

  4. Put off getting a job for awhile, and try to help your brother catch up. After you're pretty sure he can get the rest of his credits by himself without any help, then go back to getting a job.
