I just fell down....?

I'm 17 weeks pregnant. I was walking on the sidewalk and tripped on a piece of concrete sticking up and fell forward. I fell down to my hands and knees and scraped up my palms, knees and feet. Didn't hit belly, butt, or anythihng like that. I'm in no pain (except for the scrapes on my foot and knee) and having no cramping, bleeding, etc. Do you think the baby's ok?

  1. I am sure you are ok but you can always check with your Dr. to be on the safe side.

  2. Yes - babies are tough little things and if you didn't hit your belly chances are your little one didn't even notice. Obviously if you do have any cramps or bleeding you should call your midwife or hospital for advice but I'm sure that won't happen.

I'm the clumsiest person ever and was forever falling over but no harm done :-)

  3. i am sure your ok ,maybe just a little scared i am 17 weeks too and i know i would be.  I would maybe just let your dr know at your next appt and call if anything changes.  Take care

  4. Trust me, there is a LOT of cushioning for your baby in there.  Don't worry.

  5. baby is fine, but to be sure you may want to call your doctor and let them know

  6. im sure your fine, like the first post said give your doc a call if your concerned

  7. Most likely, baby is fine. Keep an eye out for cramping and bleeding like you mentioned. You can call your OB/Gyn and let them know and follow their advice. With my first pregnancy, I came off a horse but landed on my feet sort of hard and I was OK. Just pay attention to your body right now. Try not to worry, although I know that's easy to say. I was really freaked after the horse incident. Best of luck.

  8. yes indeed, dont worry a bit, hope your not too sore!

  9. Please do not rely on the internet when you have medical questions. If you have a ob-gyn, call him/her. That is why they went to medical school. They do not mind getting questions.

  10. I'm sure the baby's fine. If you're truly concerned though, give your doctor a call.

  11. I'm sure baby is just fine.

You're e little one is so protected in his/her little nest.

I had a really bad fall about a month ago (24 weeks) and landed right on my stomach. She was fine, and was kicking hours after. Of course I went to ER to make sure. But if you're still concerned go to the doc they will give you a quick check up. BUT, i'm almost certain she/he is fine.

  12. go to your doctor and get a sonogram to make sure everything is fine..........

  13. I guess your clumsy like me!

When I was 18 weeks I fell walking down a concrete sidewalk as well. I fell on my kness and twisted my ankle. I didnt feel the baby move for a little over 24 hours. I wasnt in any pain or bleeding. I called my dr just to let them know what was going on. They said everything should be ok unless cramping or bleeding occurs. Just take it easy and rest up..Best of luck with your pregnancy!!!!

  14. Since you didn't fall smack on your belly, baby is probably fine. Call the doc and see if he wants to do a quick U/S. If you start bleeding or cramping call ASAP

  15. I am sure all is well if there is no pain in your tummy or back.. However, for your own state of mind call your Dr.

  16. if you're honestly worried about your baby, i'd be talking to your doctor right now, not us nieve people on the internet
