I just filed my fafsa, can I expect to be able to attend classes in august?

I would imagine so, yes, so long as your college is okay with you submitting your FAFSA at this point in time.

There is plenty of time to setup your financial aid between now and August.  The more important question is, have you filed for Admission to a school?  It is getting late to be trying to get into a school, although not impossible.  If you have not started that process and you really want to start in Aug then talk to your school first thing and find out what they need for the Admissions process.  Then talk to financial aid about what they need you to do in addition to the FAFSA.
