  1. Our pool turns green as soon as you fill it oo. it's rust and algae in the water. it clears up in a few days. just put enough chlorine and a little algaecide, and it'll be fine.

  2. It only takes a day or so. Less under the right conditions.  Did you put any chemicals in?

  3. first add 4pounds of stableizer/conditioner(same thing) wait 3 hours then brush walls and bottom good add algeacide by pouring around edge of pool save some and pour directly in skimmer near equipment wait 24 hours.then add  4 pounds clorine vacuum pool backwash filter then add 8 one pound coffee cans of de power in skimmer nearest equipment if you have de filter wait 24 hours check chemical levels may have to add extra clorine wait 24 hours check chemical levels again if you have any more questions cotact me at jldailey2000@yahoo.com eleven years experince

  4. When did you fill it? What/Did you put in any chems yet? are you running the pump and how often?

If you haven't already done so get a test kit that can test these chem levels for you,

Chlorine- (depending on your CYA level, you need to keep your CL levels in line with your CYA level to help ward off algae.)

    pH- 7.2-7.6 is ideal

Alkalinty-70-110 ppm is ideal for most pools.

Calcium( not really important in a vinyl lined pool, but you want to know the level so its not to high)

CYA (aka stabilizer/conditioner- this is what helps keep the chlorine in your pool and keeps the sun from eatting it up to fast! When you add in stabilizer/conditioner. YOU DO NOT WANT TO BACKWASH your pool for at least 1 week, as it can take up to that long for it to completely disolve and get a proper reading- I use Aqua Chem stabilzer/conditioner- get it at home depot or walmart- it's about 10 bucks for 3 lbs.

Also, check out http://www.troublefreepools.com its a great forum of pool owners who help each other maintain our pools.

you can use this http://www.poolcalculator.com to help determine how much chems you need to add.

HTH and feel free to email me if you need more help.

  5. untreated water, standing still, and it's hot out

  6. If there is no filtering system and the pool wasn't thoroughly cleaned before filling you will have an algae build up. Aren't there chemicals which must be added to the pool?
