I just filled out my FAFSA, how long will it take to know if I will receive Pell Grant?

You should get the information, the magic number within about 6 weeks, but the school is the one that decides how long it takes to get you the actually money,   as soon as you get the paper with the * magic number* on it, then take it immediately to the college/ university / school that you are going to ,  and they will be able to tell you their individual next step, it can differ from place to place,   be patient and it will come together.   First time is the hardest,  it gets easier,   when you know what to expect.

  2. When you completed your FAFSA it should have given you an EFC (Expected Family Contribution).  This is the magic number that will help to determine your Pell eligibility.  The only other factor in determining your eligibility is your enrollment status (full-time, three-quarter time, etc).

    As long as you know these two factors now you will be able to determine your eligibility however it will take a little longer for your school to recieve the information.
