I don't understand why it says compilation cannot be written on this type of disc if I put a dvd-r disc into my dvd burner.I am using nero vision essentials. It also says not enough disc space when there is well over 4 gb of space on the blank dvd disc.Help please!

  1. depending on how big the file is you may have gone over transcoding makes big files fast Example 1.5gb mp4 > 25.6GB AVI

  2. There is a guide about how to convert and burn video formats such as DivX, Xvid, AVI, WMV, MOV, VOB, MPEG, MP4, DV, 3GP, mkv, tivo to a standalone playable DVD with a few steps:

    http://www.top5soft.com/tutorial/how-to-...

Also, you can try the other burn DVD software from here:

    http://www.dvd-to-iphone.biz/iphone-soft...

  3. first you need a cd burner/dvd burner ... not a dvd drive ... there are also dvdv burners that can burn data but not movies playable in dvd players ....

if you have a cd burner only in can only burn in cd's not dvds,

if you have dvd burner it can burn in cd and dvd ...

in nero when burning in a cd/dvd make sure to select in "make cd" or "make dvd" a transcoded cd/dvd wont work in vice.

also CD-R is ussually only 650 MB, 80 mins and most movies are past that, 750 mb 800mb when transcoded

also try redusing the quality of the video from normal, to long play or superlong play ....

perhaps you may have molested your cd/dvd , during burning process and you cansel in the middle of burning, not transcoding you killed the cd/dvd and cannot be formated

dvd-r cd-r w/ previous data in it cannot be formated

final issue is if the video is copyrigted, and needs an expensive nero upgrade, example the last seoson of naruto shippuden burns fine in dvd, however the latest season with a 9x13 screen wont burn no matter what. i only saw the upgrade notice once ...

i have NERO SMART ESSENSIALS in my laptop it burns DVD DATA but NOT DVD MOVIES,

you may need to upgrade nero program
